Runners are invited to participate in the 2018 R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run to be held 2 September 2018 (Sunday), 4 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand, Manila.
The fun run is open to government officials and employees, as well as private individuals. Spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission National Capital Region (CSC NCR), the event serves as the official kick-off activity to the nationwide, month-long celebration of the 118th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).
It aims to raise funds for the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani program, which honors public servants who sacrificed their lives in the service of the Filipino people. Under the said program, government officials and employees who died in the line of duty are recognized in simple rites, with their families receiving a plaque of recognition, scholarship grant to the awardee’s immediate family member, and a one-time financial assistance worth Php100,000.
The fun run also aims to promote among public servants the importance of having a healthy lifestyle and holistic wellness, and to foster friendly competition and camaraderie.
Cash prizes await the fastest runners in the 3K, 5K, and 10K categories.
Registration period will run until 10 August 2018. A fee of Php450 is required to register for the 3K category; Php500 for the 5K category; and Php550 for the 10K category.
